If you move from one government position to another and the transition causes relocation, you may be entitled to a relocation allowance. The same term applies if you are required to relocate due to a change of place of employment.

It is the employer who decides whether relocation is necessary. If you receive a relocation allowance, it is possible to enter into an agreement of binding terms in the contract (in Norwegian).

If you quit before such binding terms are fulfilled, you will have to reimburse the relocation expenses.
