Leave of absence for breastfeeding

Up until the child turns two years of age, the employee is entitled to taking time off work to breastfeed. For a full working day, one may take time off work up to two hours per day, and for work between 2/3 of a working day and a full working day, one may take time off work up to one hour per day.

From when the child turns 9 months of age, a confirmation from a doctor or a child healthcare center is required.

In order to make use of ones right to take time off work to breastfeed, the employee needs to inform her immediate leader as soon as possible.

This type of leave of absence is not to be applied for through the HR – portal, but is to be registered as ordinary working hours through “MinTid”, with a comment regarding the entitled leave of absence.
