Stipendiat Ellen Bjørge Ekse, Institutt for havromsoperasjoner og byggteknikk

Kort beskrivelse av det jeg er opptatt av: Jeg er opptatt av at alle midlertidige ansatte har en god arbeidshverdag! Jeg ønsker å jobbe med å løse problemer med f.eks. kontorlandskap, arbeidsmengde, driftsmidler osv.

Jeg er ansatt som stipendiat i prosjektet «Professional education, and simulation-based training PROSIM». Dette er et samarbeid mellom NTNU, USN og Universitet i Gøteborg og ser på simulerings-basert utdanning på tvers av maritime-, helse-, og bioingeniørstudier. Jeg er opptatt av å få til samarbeid på tvers av avdelinger, institusjoner, og næringsliv. Jeg tror de beste løsningene skapes gjennom tverrfaglig samarbeid. NTNU er en stor arbeidsplass der samarbeid er en stor mulighet, men også en utfordring.

Skulle jeg bli valgt ønsker jeg å være et talerør for midlertidige ansatte, og arbeide for enda bedre samarbeid og arbeidsvilkår.

Short description of what I’m occupied with:

My priority is that all temporary employees have a good working day! I want to work on solving problems with e.g., office landscape, workload, operating assets, etc.

I am employed as a PhD candidate in the project "Professional education, and simulation-based training PROSIM". This is a collaboration between NTNU, USN and the University of Gothenburg and looks at simulation-based education across maritime, health and biomedical laboratory science studies. I am keen to bring about collaboration across departments, institutions, and business. I believe that the best solutions are created through interdisciplinary collaboration. NTNU is a large workplace where collaboration is a great opportunity, but also a challenge.

Should I be elected, I would like to be a voice for temporary employees, and work for even better collaboration and working conditions.

Stipendiat Håvard Næss, Institutt for konstruksjonsteknikk

Currently I’m a PhD candidate in the SIMLab research group at Department of structural engineering, and through my commitments to student organisations as leader of NTNU Ocean Club, a board member of the ISFiT foundation, as well as a part of an NTNU wide committee working out a structured coursework for PhD supervisors, I have obtained useful insight into how NTNU is organised. Now I would like to use my experience and contribute more closely to the long-term strategy at the faculty.

During my studies, I have both been an ESN buddy several times, as well as spending one and a half year in Germany. Through this I have gained both first- and second-hand experience with being a foreigner in a new country. Even though it might be challenging, it can also be very rewarding if you get to know how things work.

As your representative, I will work for involving PhDs, postdocs, as well as other temporary staff at the IV faculty in processes and decisions of importance for you, and I will contribute to making sure that having a PhD degree from NTNU will remain a sign of quality also in the future.

Jeg er stipendiat på SIMLab på institutt for konstruksjonsteknikk, og gjennom innsatsen min som leder i NTNU Ocean Club, styremedlem i stiftelsen ISFiT og medlem i en NTNU-dekkende arbeidsgruppe med mandat til å utarbeide et strukturert ph.d-veilederopplæringstilbud har jeg fått nyttig innsikt i hvordan NTNU er organisert. Jeg ønsker derfor å bruke erfaringen min til å bidra til den langsiktige strategien på fakultetet.

Gjennom studietiden var jeg både ESN buddy flere ganger og jeg tilbrakte ett og et halvt år i Tyskland. Gjennom det har jeg fått både første- og annenhånds erfaring med å være fremmed i et nytt land. Selv om det kan være utfordrende, kan det også være veldig givende hvis man lærer hvordan ting fungerer.

Som deres representant vil jeg jobbe for å involvere stipendiater, postdoker og andre midlertidig ansatte ved IV-fakultetet i prosesser og beslutninger av betydning for dere, og jeg vil bidra til å sikre at det å ha en doktorgrad fra NTNU forblir et kvalitetstegn også i fremtiden.

Stipendiat Friederike Elisabeth Schäfer, Institutt for konstruksjonsteknikk

Jeg heter Friederike og er stipendiat i det siste året ved Institutt for konstruksjonsteknikk. I forskningen min jobber jeg med usikkerheter i numeriske modeller av arterier. Siden 2022 sitter jeg i styret i Stipendiatorganisasjonene i Norge (SiN), først som Norges representant på internasjonalt nivå som Eurodoc liaison officer og i år som SiNs representant i arbeidsutvalget UHR-Forskning i Universitets- og høgskolerådet (UHR). Midlertidig ansatte er en viktig del av fakultetsarbeidet, og jeg ønsker å representere denne gruppen i IV-fakultetets styre slik at:

• IV-fakultetet blir en attraktiv arbeidsplass for ph.d.-kandidater, postdoktorer og forskere med et nasjonalt og internasjonalt nettverk.
• fakultetets faglige prioriteringer er i tråd med Norges samfunnsoppdrag, de store internasjonale utfordringene vi og de neste generasjonene står overfor, og FNs bærekraftsmål.
• IV-fakultetet tilbyr konkurransedyktig utdanning på alle nivåer og fremragende forskning på internasjonalt nivå.
• innovasjon og tverrfaglig kompetanse får økt anerkjennelse på alle utdanningsnivåer.
• midlertidig ansatte tilbys systematisk karriereveiledning.

My name is Friederike and I am a PhD candidate in my final year at the Department of Structural Engineering. In my research, I work with uncertainties in numerical models of arteries. Since 2022, I've been on the board of Stipendiatorganisasjonene i Norge (SiN), first as Norway's representative at the international level as Eurodoc liaison officer and this year as SiN's representative in the working committee UHR-Forskning of the Norwegian Council for Higher Education (UHR).

Temporary employees are an important part of faculty work, and I would like to represent this group on the IV-Faculty Board so that:

• the IV-faculty becomes an attractive workplace for PhD candidates, postdocs and researchers with a national and international network.
• the faculty's academic priorities are in line with Norway's social missions, the major international challenges facing us and the next generations, and the UN's sustainable development goals.
• the IV-faculty offers a competitive education at all levels and outstanding research on an international level.
• innovation and interdisciplinary competencies receive more recognition at all levels of education.
• temporary employees are offered systematic career guidance.

Stipendiat Mara Gabriela Diaconu, Institutt for bygg- og miljøteknikk

• I present my candidacy for my second mandate as representative of temporary academic staff on the Faculty Board at the Faculty of Engineering.
• I have been in the board 2022/ 2023 and with feedback from you all of you I have ensured that this groups’ voice is heard.
• I have been working at NTNU for 6 years in various positions: three 3 years as EU Project Developer in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, then as Coordinator of the project "IDUN - from PhD to professor" a mentoring scheme for female PhDs and postdocs to empower them to maintain their career in research and innovation fields at the Faculty of Information Technology, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering and in the last year I have joined Faculty of Engineering where I have started as PhD Candidate, continuing my research career and path in NTNU.
• I am aware that we are a diverse group consisting of PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, researchers, lecturers with multi-national and multi-cultural backgrounds, various research fields, and interests and also sitting on three campuses: Trondheim, Gjøvik, and Ålesund.
• I have seen different approaches at faculties, departments and groups levels during my work at NTNU and also during my last year of Board member.
• I think that having been working in the organization for some years gives me a wider perspective about the challenges that temporary staff is facing, and I believe that it will make my work representing you worthwhile.
• I would strive together with you and the faculty members to make the Faculty of Engineering a great place to work.
• I get inspired by the people around me and I will strive to work with you to bring forward your needs, challenges, and wishes. If you elect me, it will be a privilege to speak on your behalf with the Faculty Board and the other Board members.
