Many countries around the world require a visa to enter, depending on where in the world you are from. 

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the required visa if one is needed. You can usually not apply for a visa before you have confirmation of acceptance from the institution of education you are applying to. 

If you are a Norwegian citizen you can check the Norwegian Department of Foreign Affairs website for information about visa requirements in different countries around the world. It is also a good idea to get in touch with the embassy in the country you are planning to visit for confirmation. 

If you are a foreign citizen you will need to check with you national department of forreign affairs for more information about visa requirements.
