Defects in electrical systems and equipment #
Notify the e-caretaker (in Norwegian) of loose cords and extension cords or defects in electrical equipment or electrical installations.

Rebuilding, customisation, renovation #
Application forms for rebuilding, customisation or renovation are sent to Property Management (in Norwegian) for approval. Applications are processed continuously. Technical solutions must be approved by the Maintenance Department. If your unit is renting facilities from outside NTNU, the house owner's guidelines must be followed.
Responsibility for electrical systems and equipment #
The Electrical Branch is responsible for:
- Electrical systems to the point of the sockets in NTNU buildings.
- Supervision of systems in NTNU buildings.
Faculties, departments and other tenants are responsible for:
- Internal control of their own electrical equipment.
- If your unit is renting facilities from outside NTNU, the house owner's guidelines must be followed.
High-voltage systems #
The Electrical Branch performs supervision, operation and maintenance of their own high-voltage grid. This includes all of their own grid stations with high-voltage cells and transformers. The Electrical Branch conducts controlled power cuts to carry out polishing and revision. Keeping the systems in good condition prevents unforeseen power failures.
Mains system 12 kV from the license owner cannot be controlled by the Electrical Branch. In case of system problems, information will be provided, if possible.
Low-voltage systems #
The Electrical Branch performs supervision, operation and maintenance of electrotechnical low-voltage systems. This includes main distributions, sub distributions (fuse boxes), lighting installations, sockets, control automation, emergency lighting installations, clock installations, electric heating, heating cable installations, central operational control, emergency power systems, lightning protection systems and earth fault monitoring.
