More information about the department council #

The department council is led by the head of the department.

The department council will be a tool for participation and give an opportunity to comment on a matter before a decision is made.

Such participation is practiced at NTNU in the form of meetings, staff meetings, forums and through direct contact between managers and employees who are most affected by a decision. Views that emerge through participaton are part of the decision-making process, but the decision is made by the leader.

It is the intention of the Director of the Museum to use the department councils as active actors to participate in a wide range of issues: strategy, annual plans and action plans, strategic staff plans, internal allocation of funding and budget, research efforts and profile, internal organization and matters of paramount importance. It will be developed effective meeting points between the Museum Board, museum management, departmental management and department council.
