- Bor de Kock; Stipendiat IIK
My name is Bor, I’m a 26-year old Ph.D. student from The Netherlands working on cryptographic protocols at IIK.
I’m running for this position because I feel like the faculty is something that we Ph.D.’s and postdocs do not pay enough attention to, while a lot of decisions about our fate are taken at the faculty level, and I want our problems to be taken into account when that happens. Many of us see the faculty as this mysterious entity somewhere floating between our department and our university: as a representative, I would work on making it more clear what the faculty can mean for us as temporary employees. Especially in the current crisis, many of us are experiencing delays, productivity issues, and a lot of uncertainty when it comes to how this will affect our future. I want to make sure that solutions are found for everyone who gets into trouble during these times.
I believe that I would be a good candidate for the board: I have a good share of both Norwegian and international colleagues and friends around me, I’m actively involved in the ‘NTNU life’ and as a member of both a cross-city department and a cross-departmental research group, I’ve had more than enough run-ins with bureaucratic oddities that I believe can be improved. I have gained relevant experience during my bachelor's and master’s in Eindhoven, as an elected representative at both the faculty and university level. I hope I can count on your vote!
