The assessment of the final thesis is at times challenging due to the diverse orientations of thesis topics, since examiner selection is largely centralized.One discussion point is to revisit as to whether we should reflect on mixed examiner pools to balance the standardized assement of the degree as well as accommodating the individual specializations and peculiarities of the involved disciplines. This aspect is to be addressed by discussion amongst MACS staff.

The learning outcomes were met based as established based on the thesis assessment by examiners.

Given the nature of the course as a thesis of individual kind, we have limited opportunity to seek generalizable feedback, other than related to supervisor support, which must be attributed to individual experiences. However, the course provides insights about the preparation of preceding courses (e.g., Research Project Planning, Advanced Project Work) for the continuous adjustment.

This course is the pinnacle course of the Master degree. The supervision is highlight individualized and quality assessment occurs based on external examination and following presentation. Intermediate meetings allow students to provide feedback and seek input for their study, but the course does not follow a typical (taught) course structure.

The learning outcomes are aligned (and used for the evaluation). The learning outcomes are introduced in the beginning of the semester. The Master thesis is the capstone activity of the Master programme, and thus builds on the expectations and skills developed in earlier courses.

The Master thesis corresponds to the teaching level and is assessed accordingly. As with any thesis, the Master thesis requires the highest level of independence and motivation expected from Master students. The environment is largely defined based on the supervision relationship of student and supervisor (e.g., frequency of meeting, location, format, etc.).

The quality assessment of the course is limited to the presentations of Master thesis work at the end of the semester. The autumn iteration of this course generally serves to follow up on extensions by students who did not complete in the summer iteration. To support information flow and feedback, students are invited to regular meetings with administrative staff; the supervision occurs individually with the responsible supervisor - experiences of students thus highly vary based on their interaction experience with the supervisor. Overall, satisfaction is given due to the relatively close relationship between supervisors and students.

The learning outcomes are relevant and aligned with the MACS study programme. The outcomes are communicated from the 3rd semester onwards, and reinforced during an introductory session held in the beginning of the fourth semester (the beginning of this course). Given the thesis' role as a capstone activity, it builds and rests on many of the contents delivered throughout the degree.

The course has mandatory external assessment as part of the Master thesis assessment. This is to ensure quality according to national standards. The course naturally hinges on the student's engagement - a characteristic of the expected independence of Master students.To stimulate interaction amongst students, the department sponsors social meetings and provides the necessary funding. Given the nature of the students as largely remote and completing their degree beyond the usual study time frame, no distinctive opportunities for socialising (let alone Corona) appeared of interest. Nevertheless, regular feedback sessions were held throughout the semester to ensure expectations and formal requirements for submission were communicated.
