This course combines artistic practice and critical discourse through collective public dissemination projects which relate to one or more key areas from the MFA course portfolio. The course provides insight into the relationship between practices in fine arts and their thematic integration and dissemination in various contexts and frameworks found within and outside the academy environment. The course introduces students to the social, cultural, political and/or environmental context that affect both the development of an artistic position and its public reception. The students own artistic practice and possible collaboration with peers is an integral part of working with and reflecting upon the artist's various roles and tasks in the community in general. The learning objective focuses on work on a group project. Students working around a common theme collectively develop research methods, artistic formats and techniques of documentation. As 4 students signed up for the course and there were conflicts in their EIT extensive course timetables, we unanimously decided to conduct the course over a 3 month period with personal weekly meetings and assignments, with more intensive rehearsal times being planned as we got closer to the public performance dates (collective public dissemination project deliverables of the course). Each student experienced a very different course, tailor made around each of their own artistic practice trajectories and needs and engaging with different KiT / Music Dept teachers and guest teachers mentoring students online and in physical space. Each individual students work crossed over with the other students in the course inside the actual performance, with each taking on a different role in the 2 performances: Chicks on Speed: Alter Ego, DeSingle, Antwerp 28th March and "The Things we Need Feedback" at Nymusik, Only Connect Festival Trondheim, 30th April. Elements of the course outcomes were also exhibited at SHED MFA1 Exhibition.

On completion of this course, students are able to: participate in a project in an artistic, professional or scientific context and establish an understanding within the area of research contribute to a collective dissemination format reflect upon the use of their own artistic practice and that of others in a series of public art performance contexts - Is the learning outcome updated and relevant?The course is largely based on student-centred learning, with students giving an account of their personal motivations, efforts and personalprogress throughout the semester, this ongoing feedback is continuously reflected upon and embedded in the teaching-in-progress activities and forms of mentoring of the students. - How is the learning outcome communicated to the students?The students received verbal feedback during weekly meeting and written feedback via email after each meetingsession, there were ongoing presentations and discussions from groups as wellas from guest teachers. The students received additional feedback and one on one mentoring by email and in person tutorials during the semester and after the progress reviews. - Is there a good relationship between the subject taught andother subjects studied by the students?There is a healthy relationship between the subjects taught and personal artistic practice by the students, the teaching in the modules andgroup crit sessions nurtured ideas of co-making and collaboration for example, which was carried through into the students joint projects outside the course, including their self-organised exhibition project SHED at Nyhavna which took place early June. Duringtutorials students encountered new theories and readings of topics in art and artistic research processes connected their work, thesebecame relevant methods for their ongoing research and artistic development.

Each students course work addressed a specific aspect of a live performance including:<ul><li>digital and live art performance practices</li><li>developing themes and theory around the concept of alter ego</li><li>developing a dramaturgie of gestures for playing a new musical instrument</li><li>work on improvisation techniques in a rehearsal studio with classically trained musicians and sound artists</li><li>producing kelp alginate bioplastics which were used to build the self made musical instrument played in the performance</li><li>documenting studio improvisation sessions and live performance situations (lens based, photographic techniques using a drone) </li><li>augmented reality techniques to develop facial filters / performing facial filters in lens studio/zoom and snap camera in networked situations and in a live blended performance</li><li>costuming the hand - working with musicians - the hand as expanded canvas and its live performance </li><li>research and writing of song lyrics</li><li>songwriting and studio performing/recording with KiT alumni Unnur Andrea </li></ul>

Overall the reference group expressed the unanimous success of the course, key positive points mentioned by students in the report enabled them to:<ul><li>think in interdisciplinary and multi-faceted methods </li><li>teamwork and individual work bleeding into each other</li><li>perform and make across disciplines - polymorphic work processes</li><li>use of theory to support processes and development of artistic practice</li><li>collaborate with students and professors on a larger public performance project</li><li>understanding of an all encompassing artwork - synthesizer art and its components and how they come together</li></ul> They felt the reference group could have been set up earlier and to have more cross overs between the students different projects during their progression, instead of at the end in the performance.

The course will provide insight into the relationship between practices in fine arts and their thematic integration and dissemination in various contexts and frameworks found within and outside the academy environment. The course introduces students to the social, cultural, political and/or environmental context that affect both the development of an artistic position and its public reception. The students own artistic practice and possible collaboration with peers will be an integral part of working with and reflecting upon the artist's various roles and tasks in the community in general. Læringsformer og aktiviteter

Each course project has a project leader who supervises students at each stage of the group project. Each course is organised in cooperation with external partners at NTNU, in the city or elsewhere. The course stresses both theoretical and practical work: lectures, screenings, guest presentations, field trips, group discussions, readings will be employed. Each project concludes with a public presentation of the research and artistic results. Additional information will be provided at the start of the semester.
